First Week of Second Life

Updated: Nov 27, 2018

After spending some time running/flying around the world of second life I feel like I'm starting to get the hang of it. Though there's still a lot that I haven't gotten a grasp on, I'm definitely improving. A few of the girls from the class and I got together online one evening and wandered around and tried to figure out how everything works. We had a lot of fun and found some fun and bizarre destinations in the big wide world of second life.

We used the destinations tab to find some popular spots to have a look around. We found the editor's pick section really fun; it had loads of creepy Halloween themed areas in we're just coming into October. One of these places was Pendle Hill. It had this really bleak vibe with ghosts roaming around and eerie noises going on the whole time.

After that, we went to this more realistic destination called Serena Pisces - Havendale Village. It was a really cute little magical village. We stayed there for a while exploring the houses and toasting marshmallows on a bonfire.

At a complete opposite from this very chilled out space, we went to a destination called Art World. It started off as this very surreal wide open space with three donut shaped objects on the ground. Once you clicked on any of the donuts however, you were transported to this psychedelic underground maze, complete with Pac-Man characters. I never ended up finding the middle but it was fun to run around the area and try to find our way anyway.

After visiting all these extremely different places in the virtual world, I'm really looking forward to exploring and learning more throughout the rest of the classes.
